  • AltaGas: Complete electrical and control system design and PLC programming for two 7.5MW peaking plants. A combination of refurbished and new 11kv switchgear was used. The three 2.5MW generators at each site were retrofitted with new control systems for load sharing, generator unit control, and synchronizing to the grid.
  • Canadian Hydro Developers: Complete system design for a dual 15MW hydro turbine generating station, including a 69kv substation.
  • Canadian Projects: 10MW hydro turbine control panel redesign after a control room fire. This project also included construction supervision, testing, commissioning, and site implementation.
  • Canair: Full electrical and control system design for a nitrogen generation facility including 2500hp and 8000hp electric motors.
  • Diavik: Cable tray design, cable sizing, and isometric routing for the diamond mine’s power generation system.
  • Duvernay: Complete system design and PLC programming for a dual natural gas 300kw generator control system in a single building. This project was later expanded to add a 3rd 300kw generator in a separate building. This required integrating the controls, power distribution, and protection into the existing system.
  • Egypt: This project involved a cost analysis of various generation alternatives followed by detailed design of the power generation and distribution systems to provide power to the Issaran central production facility and numerous surrounding well sites.
  • EnCana: Single line development, specification and requisition of 5kv switchgear for four 1.8MW generators and tie-in to existing 5.2MW turbine generator at Etsho.
  • Lethbridge College: Automatic synchronization, protection, and control system for interfacing a diesel generator and a turbo expander driven generator with the utility to provide training in black start and load sharing between generators and the utility.
  • Mercury Electric: Design new gas turbine ignition and generator operational controls for a PLC based platform for three separate systems. This application was used to generate and supply electricity to the grid using stranded gas.
  • Nexen: This project included on-site fact finding in Yemen, a detailed electrical systems study, and recommendations for increasing generation capacity and reliability for the Block 51 facility.
  • Precision Drilling: Arc Flash and Co-ordination study for a triple drill rig power generation and distribution system.
  • Shell Canada: Design and programming of a PLC based triple 375kw generator control system consisting of one diesel and two natural gas generators. This system required the backup diesel generator to synchronize with the natural gas units during ignition and startup of a large gas turbine.
  • Sherritt International: Extensive PLC and HMI programming for the Yumuri and Escondido field batteries and the associated gas turbine power generation facility.
  • Solar Turbines: Design and programming of PLC controls for screw compressor fuel gas turbine cogeneration applications: a dual unit at Magnola, Quebec and a triple unit at Rochelle, Illinois.
